Ermar Alexander

Though originally from the Phillipines, Ermar now works in film, training and teaching out of his West London Dojo. Ermar has also competed in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and runs the only club in the UK dedicated to the Filipino Martial Arts of 'Eskrima & Yaw-Yan'. Ermar trained under the tutelage of Supreme Grandmaster Dionisio Cañete of Doce Pares International & also Master Benigno 'Ekin' Caniga of Yaw-Yan ArDigma, both based in Cebu, Philippines. Since then Ermar has trained multiple British and World Champions and continues to train Actors, Martial Artists and Private Students, whilst continuing with his own Martial Arts development, where he still also fights and competes, furthering his love of Martial Arts. With over 20 years of experience, training and expertise in Specialist Martial Arts, Ermar has been approached recently by Producers and Studios alike who are seeking to add more action packed and dynamic Martial Arts Choreography & Fight Sequences into their productions. In addition to Mastering Doce Pares Escrima, Ermar has also trained in several other Fighting Systems & Martial Arts including: Tang Soo Do, Traditional Kung Fu (Praying Mantis), Kickboxing, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Boxing & Yaw-Yan ArDigma. Through Doce Pares Escrima, Ermar specialises in a variety of fighting skillsets which include: Hand to Hand combat, Knife & Sword (Barong) Fighting, Mano-Mano (Fillipino Boxing), Stick Fighting, Grappling, Locks, Breaks, Take-downs & Submissions. Being adopted by Hollywood more and more due to its realism and adaptability on screen, the Fillipino Martial Arts have been seen frequently in many films such as: The Equalizer, The Book of Eli and also the Jason Bourne film franchises to name a few. Ermar enjoys being a part of upcoming and exciting productions and is also happy to be booked for new projects.
